catch up :)

Hiii everyone!

Yes ok! I know I didn't blog last week and there is a simple reason for that! I was purely to busy sleeping and unpacking for spending a week in this beautiful place!

Right at the top of Mount Yr Aran

So I went to spend a week in the beautiful national park Snowdonia in North Wales and it was amazing! We did all sorts of out door activities and it just felt good to get away from my busy life.
I was totally exhausted after a week and spent the weekend sleeping! zzzzz

Spent a lot of time taking in natural beauty

Heaps of slate waste piled up

See that black dot towards the top right hand side of the picture?
That you are looking at is Prince William!

Mount Yr Aran was a long way ahead and we had only been walking for 2 hours! Seeing Prince William perked us up a bit as he set off a flare on the top of the mountain!

Thanks for reading guys I promise a more interesting maybe DIY fun blog next week!

That review I promised!

Hello again!
Back so soon I know! ;)

So I was just looking back over some of the blog posts and released that I owed you guys a review on the Lush Solid Jungle Conditioner so her goes!

Image from Lush website

This conditioner smells delish!
The scent is very exotic but at the same time calm and relaxing.
At first I had no idea how to use this so I just hopped into the shower and tried to rub the whole block through my hair and in the end I just had to face that it wasn't going to work :(
BUT!
I didn't want to just give up like that! So I did some research and noticed that a lot of other people were having the same problem :( and then I found a youtube video (I'll leave the url at the bottom) at a different way how to use it. You basically cut/scrap of some off the solid, put it in a container, add a a little hot water and leave it to stew. After a while you have a very lumpy but more conditioner type paste.
Shampoo and then use your conditioner as normal it works a treat!
By using it this way you don't have to wait for the block to dry out and you just put it straight back in its home! (didn't  know what else to say)

Here's the url please check it out it really helped me! - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ze7Nw1uxAes

Hope this helped thanks for reading!

Lush haul

Ooppsssss

Hello everyone,

Last Wednesday me and Brooke went on a shopping spree and we just accidently ended up in Lush what a shame! And before I start I just want to say that they didn't give me the Karma bubble bar with a chunk missing I just couldn't wait to try it out so I used some before I photographed the products.

Butterball Bath Ballistic

£2.45

The first product that I picked up and stayed in my basket was the Butterball Bath Ballistic I hadn't heard of it until Brooke picked it up and it smelt divine!
The sent is vanilla and coca butter it smells so scrummy you want to eat it! I know that all the products from lush that contain coca butter work really well on softening your hair and skin, so I have no doubt about this.

Extract from Lush times: Sometimes in life, it is the simplest pleasures that are the best; Butterball is the perfect example. We combined comforting vanilla with skin softening coca butter, making this bath bomb ideal for dry or winter skin. Don't let its size fool you, butterball is big on results.

I have high hopes for this bath ballistic and I will let you know how I get on!

Charity Pot

Mini pot that I bought: £1.00

95g pot: £6.50

240g pot: £12.75

The 2nd thing I bought is the Charity pot Hand and Body Lotion I wasn't to keen on the sent so I just bought a little pot because I wanted to put some money towards the charity.

Lush times extract: At Lush we know we're especially talented at making gorgeous  innovative products and we also know that there are some amazing groups out in the world doing meaningful work on behalf of animals, people and the environment. What do these 2 things have in common? Charity pot! We've created a lovely hand and body lotion with skin - softening coca butter and almond oil, scented with geranium and ylang ylang. With every purchase, we donate 100% of the price (minus the taxes) to small, grassroots organisations who could use a helping hand to continue the fantastic work that they do.You end up with a dashing product, soft skin and a warm heart.

I thought this was such a thoughtful and nice idea.

Karma Bubble bar

£3.15

karma karma karma karma KARMA!

How can I explain how amazing karma bubble bar is? Someone buy me a lifetime supply pretty pretty please I'll love you forever! Hope you get the picture how much I love this Bubble Bar, honest fact this was my first ever bubble bar, IKR! aaarrgghh the smell is so gooooood!

Lush times extract: Pay it forward, Our signature scent is a unique and complex blend of citrus and patchouli. Inspired by our roots and one of our most popular scents, we can't get enough of it! (neither can I) This is why you might recognise this fragance from all sorts of other products. Perfect for layering or using by itself, Karma bubble will make you get whats coming to you - a nice, relaxing bath!

^^^^^^^^^^^^^

That's exactly what you get!

Avobath Bath Ballistic

£3.20

Next up is Avobath! a very fresh and zingy sent I thought perfect for a morning bath to wake you up and feel fresh and ready to start the day.

Lush times extract: If you have never tried and Avobath, you are in for a refreshing treat! Mo managed to fill this fruity beauty with heaps of real fresh avocado and olive oil to nourish and feed your skin. Mark then finished it with an uplifting fragrance inspired by a tower of fruit. Go on, 'ave a bath!

I can't get enough of this sent and can't wait to try it!

Sea Vegetable Soap

100g piece: £3.10

You know me and my fresh scents sea vegetable also smells Deliciously fresh!

Lush times say: If you're bobbing along on the bottom of the briny sea, lime and deep cleansing sea salt in our Sea Vegetable soap will have you rising to the surface in no time. Handfuls of skin softening seaweed complete the aquatic adventure to leave you revived and ready for anything.

I'm again super super excited to try this soap as it is also the first soap I've tried from Lush!

Thanks for reading guys!
In about 2 weeks time I will be blogging reviews on all of these products to let you know my thoughts and opinions.
I will try to blog next week but I can't guarantee I will as I'm going away for the week!

Sunday 3 February 2013

Don't know what to call this post.

HI CHUMS!

So I thought I'd do a more personal blog post as this week has been very hectic. I've learnt and been through quite a bit of stuff I thought I'd never go through and achieve highly! Here are some tips I hope you guys can take from my experience.

1. Plan and organize

First thing I learnt this week was to stay organised and plan ahead to achieve higher. On Monday afternoon of my regular school day It was announced that our final design lesson of this subject was a double lesson on Wednesday morning. My first thoughts were flipping out at my teacher and telling him that he should have told us earlier. But then I realized what would that do to help me because my work isn't gonna finish by it's self. is it?
Anyways I knew that I had to complete my practical work and evaluate it so I kept calm and planned ahead. On Monday evening I wrote my evaluation of the product so that on Wednesday I could focus on every detail of creating my final product and make a really good job of it. This all went to plan and that was all because of planning ahead and keeping organised maybe my teacher should try that someday!
I am now planning ahead and keeping organised on things I do every day! believe me it makes a difference. I have also become very fond of planing on my iPod, iPad and phone setting reminders and using the calender and note apps.

2. Keep calm

So on Friday I had to deliver a speech as if I was in a job interview in front of the whole of the class. Now I know some of you are like well thats pretty easy. For me it wasn't, I get very nervous and sometimes even feel faint. The even worse thing about doing it was that you had to sell yourself and talk about all the good things about you, now I know that people can't be jealous at all the things you can do but I hate boasting in anyway especially in front of the class! I would be a lot more relaxed if I didn't know anyone there! The thing that got me through it was keeping calm so that you can answer questions under pressure. I also recommend that you re sight what your going to say and speak slower.

3. Breath and drink water

I know these things are basically what you need to survive right! (but ssshhh and keep reading!) Recently I entered a cooking competition against 15 other people up to the age of 18 I had 2 hours to complete a three course meal for 2 people and I won I have no idea how! or why! So I spoke to the chefs that marked my meal and table decor and they said that I was very organised, kept calm and drank water. As the kitchens were so so so hot I noticed that my competitors where dehydrating almost! I got through 2 liters of water during the 2 hours and was able to keep calm and focus on my cooking and technique.
Here's my final table and food.

Well that's it for today's blog post I know many have already considered these things but I really couldn't have got through last week with out them. If in doubt of anything then keep calm and drink some water trust me it helps!

How to - obsession: jars

Hello everyone!

So I know I haven't been blogging in a while because, to tell the truth I haven't had any ideas what to blog on! suggestions would be great! :)

Lately I have had this obsession with recycling jars and using them for storage random I know! But I just think they look so cute and can really dress up a room. Anyway here's what I did! :)
You will need:

Step one

Turn over your printed design and draw around the lid of your jar.

Step two

Roughly cut around this circle leaving a 1 - 2cm gap.

Step three
Cut small lines from the edge of the circle to the line, all the way around.

Step four

Cover the whole piece with glue.

Step five
Place the lid on the glued circle.

Step six

Bend each flap into the lid.

Step seven
If you like draw around the lid once more on a plain piece of paper and cut out. Then glue this in side the lid.

Wait for the glue to be bone dry before putting on you jar.

You can also add ribbons and other accessories to jazz up your jar to your taste!

I find these so handy to have on my desk and they look so cute. Well I hope you enjoyed this very simple how to blog and get recycling your jars!
I would also like to tell you guys that I have opened a new instagram: @cutevintage_ox please go and check it out! :)
Thanks for reading!

VERY LATE!

Hello again people!
Sorry this is a really late post but its not to late to start a memory jar!
As you have guessed today's blog is going to be about the memory jar I have made. If you don't know what a memory jar is, its a decorated jar that you can put post its in with memories on, photographs, tickets and anything you have to remind you of that memory! On new years eve you can then open that jar and look through everything to remember what a great year you've had!
Anyway lets quit the chat!
So here is my memory jar!

Things I used:
Printed lettering
Paper bag
Red ribbon

Everything I used was already in my house so I didn't go out to buy anything special for it feel free to though!

For the brown background I took a Brown paper shopping bag and cut it into a long strip big enough to fit around the jar.
Once you have the right length cover the strip in PVA glue and roll your jar along the strip so that it wraps around it.

I like to wait so that the glue is completely dry before doing anything else!
I found this really cute red ribbon and tied it in a bow towards the top of the jar.

For the lettering I used the photo editing website picmonkey
The font is: Special Elite.
I then printed this off cut it out in the shape of a bubble and stuck it on.

Finished yayyy!
